How This Boss Makes an Impact for Children in Florida

The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce knows that their employees are their greatest asset and contribute directly to the Chamber’s growth and prosperity. GMCC Leadership strives to uphold a company culture where hard work meets a fun and supportive environment in which personal and family needs are taken into consideration.  

The GMCC has a small dynamic team of 22 and understands that gaining quality employees and keeping them requires family-friendly policies. GMCC offers flexible and hybrid work schedules, liberal paid time off for vacation, sick, personal matters, additional bereavement, and all other purposes an employee may need time off. In addition, they provide health insurance, dental, vision, a 401k with a match.  They recognize employees’ birthdays and company anniversaries, provide lunch the day before big events because it is all hands-on deck, bonuses and at least two staff-centric events a year to celebrate wins from their contributions.

Alfred Sanchez is President & CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, South Florida’s first and longest-serving business development organization and one of the largest chambers in the southeastern U.S. Directing a team of dedicated professionals, supporting 400,000+ employees of chamber member companies. Alfred’s involvement with the Chamber spans more than 28 years and includes serving on the board of directors and chairing various committees.

Alfred received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and English from Arcadia University and a master’s degree in community and clinical psychology from the University of Maryland. Active in his church and Miami community, he serves on local and national boards including Greater Miami & the Beaches Resilient City Steering Committee of the 100 Resilient Cities; Miami-Dade Beacon Council; Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau; Orange Bowl Committee, and the Early Learning Coalition
