Bio

David Zambrana, PhD, DNP, MBA, RN, serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jackson Health System, one of the nation’s largest public academic health systems. A transformational healthcare leader with more than three decades of experience, David began his career as a bedside nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital and has since held senior leadership roles across both public and private healthcare organizations.

Prior to becoming CEO, he served as Jackson’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the system’s seven hospitals, extensive ambulatory network, urgent care centers, nursing homes, and physician practices. His leadership has been widely recognized for advancing healthcare access, quality, and innovation throughout South Florida.

Beyond Jackson Health System, David is actively engaged in civic and industry leadership. He serves as Board Chair of United Way Miami and contributes to numerous state and national healthcare organizations, including the American Hospital Association, America’s Essential Hospitals, and the Florida Hospital Association.
