Bosses for Babies

How This Boss Makes an Impact for Children in Florida

George is honored to be recognized as a Boss for Babies. Shortly after becoming the CEO at United Way of Citrus County, one of the team members, Jess, announced that she and her husband were expecting a baby! After celebrating, he began reviewing their policy manual to best position the agency to support Jess both throughout her pregnancy and after the arrival of the office “Boss Baby” Nolan. It quickly became apparent that changes needed to be made.

The most obvious change they made was the conversion of an unused office into a nursery complete with crib, changing table, rocking chair, baby swing, new carpet, and cute decorations. When Jess’ husband, a firefighter, is on duty, their little boss baby is in the office.

They are happy to encourage other businesses to adopt initiatives that create a family-friendly workplace. These initiatives not only enhance the well-being of team members but also showcase a progressive and compassionate organizational culture. The positive response from the community underscores the significance of such policies. In a world where work-life balance is increasingly valued, organizations that prioritize the needs of employees with children stand out as leaders in creating environments where individuals can thrive both personally and professionally.
