Bosses for Babies

How This Boss Makes an Impact for Children in Florida

Martha and Nemours understand that family-friendly policies are good for their associates, their families, and the company. With nearly half of their associates in the family-forming stage of life, Nemours is proud to offer 6 weeks of 100% paid bonding leave for new parents, as well as 60% short-term disability pay for 6 to 8 weeks for birthing parents. They also offer lactation spaces on-site, baby feeding support through Simplified, and access to Cleo Baby, a personalized online program with guidance on emotional support, child development, pregnancy, and prenatal health for new and expecting parents, among other topics.

Nemours not only supports parents, but helps associates become them, offering benefits to assist associates in whatever avenue they take to parenthood. Since 2022, they have provided fertility benefits such as IVF, IUI, fertility preservation, and donor and surrogate embryology to employees, resulting in fifty live births so far in 2024. For those looking to adopt, Nemours offers reimbursements on adoption expenses up to the IRS maximum, with a prorated amount for part-time associates. In addition, Nemours offers scholarships for children of associates to attend summer camp, in partnership with the Ginsburg Foundation, as well as emergency child, dependent, and elder care for employees on a per-need basis through Bright Horizons Back-Up Care’s network, with employees responsible for a small copay.
