How This Boss Makes an Impact for Children in Florida
The Miami-Dade Beacon Council plays an important role in enhancing the economic landscape of Miami-Dade County. It also serves as a proud family-friendly workplace, prioritizing a rewarding environment fueled by its talented team and collaborative partnerships. As The Beacon Council celebrates its 40th year, it is worth noting that the average employee tenure is 10 years, which underscores the organization’s enduring commitment to the values that have guided its work from the start.
A deep understanding and fierce commitment to adaptability in the face of family needs are at the cornerstone of The Beacon Council's culture. New parents are granted paid leave and remote work flexibility, with employee well-being and work-life balance prioritized by leadership and supported by all employees. Although organizations with fewer than 50 employees are not required to comply with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), The Beacon Council thoughtfully and intentionally chooses to allow up to 12 weeks of leave for parents following the adoption of a child or the birth of a newborn. Additionally, leave can be taken for personal illness or caregiving of a family member.
